Nell Smyth is a learning specialist, teacher, and consultant, with extensive background in theater, playwriting, and bodywork. Nell was born in England, and she has worked in England, Italy, Spain,the United States and Ireland where she now resides.

Currently Nell works as a Steiner teacher and as an independent consultant and teacher trainer. She is also a faculty member of the Middendorf Institute of Breath Experience.

Her education includes a B.A. in Literature from Leeds University, an M.A. in Afro Caribbean Studies from the University of London School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education also from the University of London. She also graduated from the Emerson College Rudolf Steiner teacher training program in England where she studied for two years. She qualified as a Middendorf breath practitioner in 1992 after a three and a half year training in America.

Nell brings over twenty years of experience as a Steiner/Waldorf teacher. She has taught classes one through eight, and has been developing her work with very young children for over nine years.

Nell has also been active in working innovatively with the Waldorf curriculum from a multicultural perspective, and in developing the science/nature curriculum day at the Waldorf inspired Greenwood school in California.

A fascination with the expressive capacity of each individual in relation to the social is one of Nell's guiding interests. She has been involved in playwriting and directing for over twenty-five years. As a teacher of Literature, Drama, History, Geography and Drama, Nell has developed a large repertoire of plays for children in the grades. Nell is a trained and experienced Middendorf Breath practitioner and has been working with this approach to the natural breath for over eleven years. She works with individual clients, adults and children, teaches groups and also trains and mentors teachers.
